The Himalaya literally means the abode of snow. The Himalayas are the highest mountain ranges in the world. Because of tall peaks, the Himalayan mountain is also referred to as the kings of all the mountains. There are many beautiful locations present in the Himalayan mountain. To see this location many people all around the world visit India throughout the year. The Himalayan mountain range is the crown of India and it is situated in the north direction. There are many religious places in the Himalayan mountain and many rivers that originate in this Himalayan mountain range. The world’s tallest mountain Mount Everest is also situated in the Himalayan range, it is so huge that its peak looks like it is touching the sky.
Without Himalaya, India would have turned into a desert. There are so many advantages which the Himalaya gives us, it attracts tourists with its beauty and also protects us and feeds us. The Himalayas mountain range is the pride of our country. Tourists go to the Himalayan region pollute the Himalayas and due to pollution the glaciers have also started melting rapidly. A big step was taken by the Uttarakhand government in the year 2015, under which Himalaya Day will be celebrated every year on 9th September.
