India is a democratic country where everyone has liberty to do any thing. In this modern epoke people are buzy in honing their skills. People are surrounded by technology. They are solving their work or problems by using technical devices. People are in bed of roses because of technical gadgets, as we have mobile phone, computer, internet, Smart watch, A.T.M card, and other Debit and Credit cards. People are soving their all the work through the social media and technical gadgets.
The modernisation and advancement in technology has not only created Metas but also a big threat to humanity ‘Cyber crime’.
In cyber crime a computer is used to commit crime or a computer may be the target. Cyber crime involves threat to personal security and finances terrorist collaborate on the internet, moving terrorist activities and crimes to cyberspace.
Cyber crime not only affect personal security but the global GDP too. In 2018, study by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), in partnership with mcafe concluded the nearly 1% of the Global GDP, close to $ 600 billion is lost due to Cyber crime each year.
So it’s been very important to be saved from the cyber crimes in order to protect yourself. The following measures can be used :
USE STRONG PASSWORDS: At least keep your password of 10 characters involved different combination of letters numbers and symbols. And try to change your password regularly.
SOCIAL MEDIA SETTING: Try to keep your personal and private information locked in . In order to be safe from social engineering and threat for personal security.
BE UPDATED: be updated of tax used by these hackers to still your information. Being updated also and was that if you are using a device make sure to use the latest software version because the older one may contains some flaws through which your data can be accessed.
IMMEDIATE ACTION: This involves that you should know what to do when you have been a victim of cybercrime. Immediately try to report to the nearest local police. Your report can help the police in their investigation and not letting the criminals from taking advantage of other people in future.
