Flood is a natural disaster which badly affects our lives. It occurs due to continuous heavy rainfall and stagnation of water in an area for long time. It is an overflow of water. It submerges low-lying areas. In some places many people face this problem every year. There are two types of floods one natural and the other unnatural, naturals are cyclone, excessive rainfall etc. While unnatural floods are caused by excessive pumping and dam break. Both affect us very badly, we have to face difficulties in living and eating. People have to leave their homes and go to a safe place. Many people lose their lives and property during floods. Every year thousands of lives are lost in flood. Lakhs of people are rendered homeless. The most deadly flooding was in China in 1931 that killed 2,000,000 to 4,000,000 people. Floods are often carefully managed by installing water sensors or flood detection system, making defenses such as levees, bunds, reservoirs. Flood control is necessary measure to ensure the damages caused by flooding and are kept at the bare minimum.
