Himalaya Mountains are an important natural part of India. It is both soul and body of the country. The Himalaya Mountains have special significance for India.The National Mission for Clean Ganga organized Himalayan Diwas on September 09, in association with Naula Foundation. The day is celebrated with an aim to preserve the Himalayan ecosystem and region. This day is celebrated to mark the importance of the Himalayas. The Himalayan hill cities face many challenges due to poor building planning and design, poor infrastructures like toads, water supply, sewage etc. and unprecedented felling of trees.Significance of Himalayan mountains to India are mainly classified as climatic influence ,defence, source of rivers , fertile soil ,agriculture, tourism, hydroelectricity, forest wealth ,minerals and pilgrimage. The Himalayas save our country from the cold and dry winds of Central Asia.It is celebrated with the aim to conserve Himalayan ecosystem and region. It was officially declared as Himalaya Day in 2015 by the then Chief Minister.
