India is a country where people of different religions live together. Every religion has its own rituals which it celebrates with great pomp and show. The people of India, irrespective of any religion’s festival, celebrate everyone’s festival together with pomp and show without any discrimination.
The diversity refers to the existence of variations of different characteristic in a group of people. These characteristics could be everything that makes us unique, such as cognitive skills and personality traits, along with the things that shape our identity (e.g race ,age, gender, religion, sexual orientation , cultural background.) Unity refers to the situation in which people are in agreement in working together. The phrase “Unity in Diversity” refers to the harmony and peace.It is employed among various group to ensure that tolerance is uniform Caste, creed, race and nationality are all examples of diversity. Physical, cultural, linguistic and political differences are also included it unity in diversity. It educates all humans and living beings to unify and find methods to bond with one another despite their differences. This will create an environment in which individual can coexist hormoneously.
“Unity in Diversity” is a long- standing concept that may be traced back to Western and Eastern traditions. India is one of the excellent example of unity in diversity. We can clearly observe that people of all religions, Creeds ,castes ,lifestyle and so on coexist peacefully under one roof ,i.e in one country of India . We can never forget the liberation movements led by the Indians of all faiths ,and religions and castes to establish India as an independent country. In India ,the struggle for freedom is a magnificent example of unity in diversity.
India is the world’s largest and most popular country, home to people of various religions such as Hinduism ,Buddhism Islam ,Jainism, Christianity and parsees, all of which believe in the same Dharma and Karma doctrine. People here celebrate the religious holidays (Holi, Diwali, Eid, Lohari and Christmas etc )in a very peaceful manner without causing harm to other religious people. In India, Hindi is the mother tongue, but many other dialects and languages are spoken by the people of various religions and regions (such as English, Urdu ,Sanskrit ,Bihari, Punjabi and so on); however ,everyone is proud to be a citizen of great India.
